Halloween is my favorite ‘holiday’. It is not celebrated here in Germany (but of course shops use it to sell candy, and nowadays Halloween party are quite common) and is probably the one thing I wish I had had in my youth. Trick-or-treat, spooky decorations, fog, scary stories, things that go bump in the night, the legend of sleepy hallow, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, ghouls, vampires and zombies.

In the past years I always had a private Halloween movie marathon. This year, I somehow completely lost track of it and so I didn’t borrow or buy any scary movies. I still have a bunch that I have viewed before, we’ll see. I’ll probably spend the entire night working on the NaNoWriMo thing anyway.

And so, another year dawns. 2007 wasn’t so bad: I visited two new countries, made new friends and met some old ones again. 2008 will be a very interesting year for me, but more on this later. For now, I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year. Enjoy yourselves!

Vienna two weekends ago. Detroit last week. Two Christmas parties and three private dinner events in the seven work-days I was in Frankfurt these past two weeks. And on top of it all I caught a really bad flu. (My nose is actually hurting from being cleaned so much.) Today seems to be the first day I have really any time to do “personal” things again. It’s weeks like these that I notice how old I have become.

I did catch up with my email, finally; if you sent me something directly and didn’t get a reply… then the malign email gods ate it. Please resend!

Corey and Joel, my favorite podcasters, are organizing another Live Show. This one will be about Kwaanzakkah. Don’t think I will make it, but if you’re closer to Detroit – be sure to drop by.
